Woodturning – Commissions – Tuition
I have been woodturning for some 20 years, and since moving to West Wales in 2002 have been able to concentrate on my craft. I am a member of The Association of Woodturners of Great Britain, and the local Tycroes Woodturning Club, and also demonstrate to local clubs and at craft shows, besides running woodturning courses in my workshop, situated next to the house.
Where my work can be seen
My work can seen and purchased at Origin Dyfed, 26 Blue Street, Carmarthen, SA31 3LE and Crafts Alive, 133 Rhosmaen Street, Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire, I am also featured on the internet at Woodturning online
Types of Turning
Athough I previously concentrated mainly on small and miniature items, I have now expanded my range of work to include larger pieces.
Lace bobbins are a speciality, although pens and pencils, and doll’s house (1/12th scale) items are also readily available, besides many others too numerous to mention.
Lace bobbins come in many shapes and sizes and although I have a large stock of ready turned bobbins in many different styles and woods, I do appreciate that each individual lacemaker has their own favourite style, and that is why I welcome the opportunity to produce the bobbins just as you want them.
Wood Timbers Used
I have a large selection of timbers available including Lilac, Laburnum, Holly, Box and many more locally grown, besides the more usual rosewoods and other exotics.
You will often find me at local craft fairs and I willingly undertake commissions.
